The system configuration looks like this:   There are two HPLC systems, which can be any brand but we think that Agilent 1100 and 1200 systems are awesome.   There will be a Micro-capillary pumping system, that will load the On-Chip trapping column.  After the trapping column is loaded, the On-Chip valve switches and a Nano pumping system takes over to elute the analyte off the trapping column and onto the On-Chip analytical column.  Loading is done at around 4.0 ul/min,  the analytical run done at 400 nl/min.  Here's a list of recommended Agilent modules:

G2229A Nano Pump/Micro Degasser, G1382A Capillary Pump, and G1377A Micro Well-plate Sampler.

Of course a PC and Chemstation will be required to run the above modules.  We have been very resourceful in setting up the PC system for joint LTQ, Chip Delivery System and HPLC control.   Most PCs that come with the LTQ are basic, just enough to deal with the LTQ and the Data.  Same situation for the Agilent HPLC Chemstation.  So, we set up virtual connections (via ethernet) between the two PCs enabling you to run BOTH systems from one monitor and key pad.  Of course if you purchase a new, powerful (quad processor) PC with lots of memory, we can install all the software and control on one PC.

The Mass Spec, HPLCs and the Chip Delivery System are all interconnected with remote start cables so full sequencing is straight forward, making automated runs easy.

Check out our Harvard Syringe pumps that we are using as the Nano "Analytical" pumping system.  We have written a visual basic executable to program a true gradient  and control the solvent delivery.  We're still in the testing phase but intend to offer the OEM version of the Harvard pumps with our software by mid June 2010.    Contact us by email for details, pricing (under $15k for the pair, including software) and delivery.

Here's a chromatograph of Digested IGG, eluted with a 10 minute gradient from 5% Acn to 70% Acn using the Harvard Syringe pumps and our gradient control program, on the Agilent Protein ID Chip.

RANDOM ARTICLE

Want to get  the most from your 10 year old 7673 Autosampler !   Read this article.

If your Autosampler has run thousands of samples like mine, it might be a little sluggish these days.
Here's how to PM your Autosampler system and maybe get another six months of use from it.   We'll break it down into three components:   Controller Box,  Tower,  and  Tray.

Start with the controller box.  As with all things electrical turn the...
