| Repair of your HP 7673 Autosampler Tower, Tray or Controller | |
| Things have changed a bit on how we handle repair of your 7673 Autosampler components. Here's a break down for each component:
7673 TRAY: Most problems are related to a broken belt. If you send in your 7673 trays,we can take a look and get you an estimate for repair. Belt replacement and cleaning will result in a charge of $700 each plus return s/h. Replacement of motors and any other components will result in additional charges.
7673 TOWER: The standard service for the tower is to replace the turret and the plunger motors and clean the unit. The charge for two motors, labor and cleaning is $1600 plus s/h. If the carriage motor needs to be replaced (very rarely) an additional $500 will be added to the invoice.
7673 CONTROLLER: Unless the controller is "blown up" they typically don't need any repair. Maybe a new fan on occasion. The charge to test and clean is $200 plus s/h. If additional parts or boards are needed, an estimate will be provided prior to making any additional repairs.
Send us your HP 7673 Tower, tray or controller for evaluation. The above repair procedures and prices are fixed. These prices are what you should expect to pay. We will let you know if additional work is needed and will provide a quotation prior to doing the work.
If you want to attempt repairs yourself, we have all belts for the 7673 A and B in stock and ready to ship, $20 each. We have all motors in stock and larger quantities may be ordered from suppliers as needed.
Often just cleaning and testing can get you another 5 - 6 months of service. Here is a re-print from one of our news letters on DIY 7673 cleaning and PM. 7673 Cleaning & PM.pdf
The customer is responsible for all freight charges, both ways.
If you think that we can take your 15 year old, tray or tower (that has run thousands and thousands of samples), and make it brand new for just few bucks, WE CAN'T. Your expectations must be reasonable.

Confused about your upgrade options ? Read this article......
I called the Agilent 800# the other day and asked about upgrade
opportunities for HP/Agilent GC and GC/MS systems. The sales person
on the other end didn't know the answer but put me in a queue to get a
call back from someone that could help me out. Several days later,
this is what I found out, thought you might be interested to hear the
