An HED system for your existing HP 5971 and HP 5972 GC/MS. Sensitivity enhancements (high signal intensity and lower detection limits) of the HED system are so important that virtually all manufacturers of mass specs today build this into their systems as a standard feature. Add it to your '71 or '72 and get new sensitivity you have never seen before. Full on/off control from your Chemstation software. On/Off menu choices and macros that turn it on before a run and off after it finishes. For HP 5971 users, a new Vacuum Manifold is also being offered, with a new 5972 "O-ring" type seal rather than the flange type seal of the current 5971 manifold.

Preliminary data taken from a CSS upgraded HP 5971 provides improved tune abundances from 5 to 27 times increase over standard autotune values for the tune masses of 69, 219 and 502 . Take a look at one example of an "HEDON / HEDOFF" screen capture.

Additional data shows an aliquot of Hexachlorobenzine is sent through a DB5 column in HED off and HED on modes on the same instrument. No other parameters are changed and an increase of signal intensity on the order of 10x is observed.
